Ramy Maalouf is a young Lebanese musician born in 1983 in the small village of Kfertey, Mount Lebanon. He started his flute lessons at the age of seven, with Professor Andre Soueid. Ever since, he has shown remarkable talent in both performing and composing.

 

 

Ramy is a bachelor degree holder in musicology from USEK (Holy Spirit University of Kaslik), he also has a Performer’s Certificate from Trinity College – London, amongst other degrees and qualifications.As a performer, Ramy has been the forerunner in playing quarter tone oriental scales, hence combining both western techniques along with typical oriental moods.

 

 

This experiment has generated in a new music embracing oriental spirits, heart and core. Ramy considers his musical compositions as still experimental and at their very beginnings. He currently gives flute courses at Usek (Holy Spirit University of Kaslik).
